Founder and Co-Director Mary Jo Cerqua, head coach of the Baldwinsville Central School District’s varsity girls’ volleyball team, founded the club in 2000 to develop the Baldwinsville girl's volleyball athletes to compete at the regional and national levels in the USA Volleyball Association.

Coach Cerqua’s achievements in the sport of Volleyball as of the end of the 2009 season are as follows: 13 league championships; 12 Section III sectional titles; 10 state regional titles; Fall 2006 – state runner-up; Fall 2008 – state semi-finalist, 3rd place AA team in New York State; Fall 2009 – state finalist, 2nd place overall AA team in New York State. Coach Cerqua has coached the girls’ varsity team for 20 years. In July of 2009 Coach Cerqua was named a Coach of the Year finalist by the National High School Athletic Coaches Association. Cerqua was selected for the national honor on the basis of her coaching record and her service to the sport of volleyball.
